Synchronized
That’s what our virtual run is going to be come Thursday morning (and Wednesday afternoon for those in the West Coast, guys!) so if all goes without any hitches, we’ll be off running again from both sides of the world at exactly 4:30 AM Manila time (that’s 1:30 PM California time over there). On this corner of the globe, it’ll be me manning the Quezon City side, Jaymie and Ben on the Alabang side, and probably Banggigay on the Makati side (or wherever she finds herself on that day…). On that corner of the globe, eric will be off trekking the OC terrain again, and i do hope he gets more company next time around. We wouldn’t want the spooks to be around again, don’t we?
Glad to have e-rod on board for No.2; man, the guy just has this down to a science of sorts haha. Now if we can only get someone to run Europe, or Scandinavia, or even Greenland, that would be a hoot.
Here’s my route this time around: I’ll be taking some six looped runs around the 300-meter oval at the camp then head out to the regular runners’ circuit that is just as scenic in the morning as it is dark and empty at that very hour. Take a look at where am going:

This one’s just in front of my office and is the 1-k mark for the circuit. By the time I get past here, I would have made 4-k already.

On the next loop, I’ll be coming down this rather gradual but steep incline of the road, again just past the east side of my office, and down towards an abrupt right turn that leads to the camp’s main gates. Having made this far, I would have logged 6k by then.

Here’s another view from another angle of that road incline. If you notice I’ll be running against the regular tide of incoming runners, opting to go downhill instead of uphill. That’ll keep me up in stride for the next 1-2k’s of relatively flat pavement running rather than trudging up this long, long incline. Besides, I like to see the contorted faces of those coming at me uphill.
Two loops around these circuit and a couple more loops around the oval as I slow down would complete my 10-k for this virtual run. Finished. Poofed. Satisfied. Man, I am sure this will be as good as the first. Trust me.
And as I see the sun passing above the trees over the horizon,

what can be more satisfying on this early morning run than some good brewed caffeine and hot pandesal.
Can’t wait to get started!
