Done over with

Finally, I got to run a good one this week. After last week’s rained-out mornings, it looked like I had lost some of the spring in my legs over the past few days. My runs were so mundane and dull I didn’t even think of anything while running. Not like this morning though. I got up way past 3:30 AM and trudged to the office half-awake, in fact. I donned my running gear, did the rudimentary 200 sit ups, walked out of the door, clicked the iPod, and started my runner’s walk. A kilometer into the run, I was feeling better then so I hit the strides and started my run into the dark recesses of our track oval. At 3k, I had myself joining in on the upbeat tunes of FitPod so it didn’t matter by then if I was running alone or that I could finish the agreed-upon 10k for the VR5. My run was now fleeting, almost at my 10k pace, even if I had to do 25 laps around that frigging oval. By then I knew I had VR6 in the works.

At a quarter to six, it was done over with. No pain, no loss of breath, no edgy springs, no tendon tears. Whew! This run is history again, and I hope so was yours.

How did you guys do?
