Fellowship or Mizuno Run?

Both will be run on the same date, March 30th. Both will feature distances from 10k to 3k. But you pay Php250 for the 10k, Php200 for 5k and Php150 for 3k for the Mizuno Run (MZ) while its a measly 50 bucks for the Fellowship Run (FR).

I hear though that the MZ will be competitive and the FR will be just for fun. But aren’t runs suppose to be both fun and competitive? For me who isn’t in this for the money or even the PR anymore, just the thought of taking part, running the race, and finishing it is all part of the fun. That is probably why it has been quite difficult to advocate running as a good and beneficial pastime because races here tend to pursue the angle of competitiveness rather than fun and enjoyment. I think the ads should be altered in such a way that attracting more runners is the result of joining a fun run and not just a competitive one.

But that’s just me…and my team of eleven guys and five gals who have been running as a group this year as a prelude to our inter-office intramurals come June. Not that I emphasize to them that we need to run these races, but more on the fact that we need to run as a team. Isn’t that what team stands for anyway?
