Ready to run?
Not yet, I think. This morning I tried a few tentative running steps during my early dawn wake-up call and promptly stopped when my left arm started acting up again. Seems I will be pushing the brisk walk routine for a long, long while for now. Not that I abhor brisk walking, but seeing that a number of people wheeze past me while I walk and they run, I would’ve wished I was doing the same thing, too. It’s just not exhilarating as it’s suppose to be when you’re walking.
My shoes may end up looking old and tired, just the way I am right now. I don’t seem to remember a day missed in over seven years of active running. Heck, I even already missed four running events this year and more are coming up.

(Introducing the world’s oldest running shoes. A few more years of non-running and my shoes will look this way.)
Patience, grasshopper, my mind says to me every time. Patience is a virtue. Patience will kill you. Of course, I try to shake that thought off me. Someday, somehow, when the arm won’t hurt that much anymore, I’ll be skimming the lots and track once again and my suddenly old and haggard shoes will be looking quite spiffy and new once again. But for now, walking along the daisies is the order of the day.
