Getting over the hump
Like it was here today, or yesterday, or even last week. Nothing but a bunch of unhumpness can take your game out of the door on the first day of the week.
But I am happy for five things:
1. The Celtics won their Eastern Conference semi-finals from the defending East champs Cavaliers, 97-92. The best thing about it is that I didn’t get to even hear it until the final buzzer. Which is great, because Boston is my No. 1 team and hell hath no fury to a losing Leprechaun.
2. I got to rearrange our “second” home last Sunday. Given that the rains and winds have practically wiped our indoor garden clean, the brush-up came at a time I was in the mood for some sprucing. Now it looks good, much cleaner, much greener, so to speak. Now, if I can only find enough fish to live at least a month in the pool.
3. My daughter’s going to college, and stepping out of the home for “dorm-life”. Make that “condo-life”. Yep, seventeen years she hasn’t even left more than a single day from the family abode and now she’s taking the high road towards independence and maturity. I hope I’m not home when she brings in her week-long laundry, though.
4. I’m slowly gaining some movement of my busted shoulder and arm and with less pain the past few days. Maybe the healing is happening, albeit slowly as it is. I hope to be able to run again sometime last week of the month since I do need it. But, after having done some very quiet and less stressful brisk walks the past few weeks, I seem to kind of like the slow pace for a while. Maybe longer for the time being.
5. And, nothing brightens your day than a picture of tomfoolery and stupidity. This kinda takes the cake. But I love the originality.

This is how it feels to be given birth to. And this is how I ended up stupid, man.
Enjoy the week!
